Suspects Arrested in Shooting Investigation

On 11/9/2021 at about 3:30 am, the San Rafael Police Department received a call from a convenience store in the 900 block of East Francisco Blvd.  The clerk called 911 and informed the dispatcher that a male just walked into the store with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Upon arrival, SRPD Officers found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his left upper thigh. SRPD officers rendered medical aid to the victim until the San Rafael Fire Department arrived.  SRFD transported the victim to a local hospital where he was eventually treated and released for his injury.

SRPD Officers interviewed the victim and learned the following:

On 11/9/2021 at about 2:30 am, the victim was in the area of Medway Road and Belvedere Street.  He was approached by a female and she engaged him in conversation.  Eventually, he got into a car, which was occupied by another female. The victim and the two females travelled to a parking lot in the area of Grand Avenue and East Francisco Blvd.  While in the parking lot, an argument ensued between the victim and the females.  One of the females pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg.  The victim exited the car and both females fled in the vehicle.  The victim walked from that location to the convenience store where the clerk called 911.  Based on the time delay from when the shooting occurred and when SRPD was called, the suspects were not located that night.

SRPD Detectives took over this investigation.  They obtained video footage of the two suspects and the vehicle they were driving, including the license plate number, from earlier in the night prior to the shooting.  Detectives sent out information to law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area and Sacramento asking for them to be on the lookout for the two suspects and their vehicle.

On 11/10/2021 at about 3:00 am, the Antioch Police Department contacted SRPD and informed us that they had the vehicle stopped with both suspects inside.  SRPD Detectives responded and took custody of the suspects and the vehicle.

Detectives interviewed the two suspects who made incriminating statements and admissions regarding the shooting.  After the interviews, both suspects were booked at the Marin County Jail.

Alaytreya Gregory, a 28-year-old female from Sacramento was booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, and Supervising/Aiding a Prostitute.

Satearah Murphy, a 32-year-old female from Sacramento was booked for Robbery, Prostitution, and Aiding and Abetting a Felony.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call San Rafael Police at (415) 485-3000. Tips can also be made online at http://www.srpd.org/tips.
