Novato Street Stabbing Under Investigation
San Rafael, CA – The San Rafael Police Department is investigating a stabbing that happened on Novato Street near Kerner Boulevard. An 18-year-old victim had been stabbed several times and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Just before 5:30 PM, SRPD Dispatchers received 9-1-1 calls about a victim who had been stabbed near an apartment complex in the unit block of Novato Street.
Officers arrived within minutes and found an 18-year-old male victim who had been stabbed multiple times during a physical altercation. Witnesses reported that two suspects and the victim had been in a fight when the stabbing occurred.
San Rafael Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
SRPD Detectives were called to the scene and are actively working on leads to identify the suspects involved.
This incident does not appear to be related to any of the Guatemalan Independence Day celebrations and gatherings later in the day.
SRPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in this case. If anyone in the community has video and photographs of the incident, please forward them to the San Rafael Police Department.
