San Rafael, CA – On Thursday, June 29, 2023, at around 8:30 am, The San Rafael Police Department Investigations Unit arrested Sean Michael Nafius, a 20-year-old resident of San Rafael, for the possession and distribution of child pornography.  

The SRPD Investigations Unit served a search warrant in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue in San Rafael after receiving a CyberTip from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The CyberTip related details of a video uploaded to a Snapchat application account that was pornographic in nature and involving an obvious child.  

SRPD Detectives conducted follow-up and determined that the location where the video was uploaded from was a residence on Woodland Avenue in San Rafael.  Accounts related to the upload belonged to Nafius.  

Detectives seized electronics related to the crime during the search warrant and arrested Nafius.  Nafius was booked at the Marin County Jail for one felony count of possession of child pornography and one felony count of distribution of child pornography.  He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
