Suspects Wanted for Armed Robbery

On Monday, November 30, 2020 at about 3:00 am, two suspects, at least one of which was armed with a handgun, entered the 7-11 Convenience Store at 80 Medway Road, San Rafael.

The armed suspects confronted the clerk and robbed him of cash from the cash register.  The two suspects fled the store to a waiting vehicle driven by a third suspect.  The three suspects fled the area in the vehicle and were not located.

The subsequent investigation revealed that similar crimes had occurred in multiple jurisdictions throughout the Bay Area and the Central Valley.  Starting in September of 2020, including the recent robbery in San Rafael, there are at least nine robberies of 7-11 Convenience Stores in Manteca, San Jose, El Cerrito, and San Leandro.

SRPD Detectives have reached out to the other agencies to coordinate the investigation into these robberies.  In the most recent case in San Rafael early Monday morning, Detectives learned that the suspects stole a 2000 Honda CRV, Gold in color, with the license plate of 4MMH273 in Albany, Ca several hours prior to the robbery.  They drove the stolen vehicle to San Rafael, committed the robbery, and fled the area in the stolen car.  As of today, the vehicle is still outstanding.

Two of the three suspects were captured on video committing the robbery in San Rafael.  We are releasing the video to the public in the hopes that someone might recognize the clothing or the mannerisms of the two suspects.  All three suspects are considered armed and dangerous.  If someone recognizes them or sees the vehicle, do not approach them, call 911 and explain the circumstances to the local law enforcement agency.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call San Rafael Police at (415) 485-3000. Tips can also be made online at http://www.srpd.org/tips.
