Man Arrested for Selling Marijuana to High School Age Minors
During February 2018, the San Rafael Police Department started receiving numerous complaints of possible drug dealing in the Gerstle Park neighborhood. The Street Crimes Unit initiated an investigation and substantiated the complaints. The suspect was identified as Miguel Eduardo Moises-Hernandez, 20 years old, of San Rafael. During the investigation, detectives discovered that Moises-Hernandez was selling marijuana to minors as young as 14 years old.
On March 30th, 2018 Detectives from the San Rafael Investigations Unit, the Special Operations Unit and Patrol arrested Moises-Hernandez at the Marin County Probation Office when he showed up for a routine check-in.
Shortly after the arrest, detectives served a search warrant at an apartment complex in the Gerstle Park Neighborhood, where Moises lived. Detectives recovered over four pounds of processed, concentrated and edible marijuana along with $10,000 in cash.
Moises-Hernandez was booked into the Marin County Jail for 11361(A) H&S, selling marijuana to a minor, 11353.6(b) H&S, selling marijuana within 1000 feet of a school, 1203.2 PC, violation of his probation, 12022.1 PC, committing a felony while out on bail and 11359 H&S, possession of marijuana for sale.
