Suspect Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery

On Wednesday, August 16th at approximately 10:15 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of B Street called 9-1-1 to report that two men entered their apartment and attempted to rob them. 

While en-route, officers were advised that one of the suspects was being held down by one of the victims. Responding officers arrived and detained Bertrell Lewis, 41 of Fremont. A second suspect fled prior to the officers' arrival.  An AR-15 rifle and high capacity magazine was located at the scene. According to the victims, Lewis entered the apartment with the rifle and pointed it at them. One of the victims grabbed the rifle and pulled it away. They were able to hold Lewis on the ground until officers arrived.

Lewis was booked at the Marin County Jail for attempted robbery, burglary, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine and conspiracy. He is being held on $75,000 bail.

Investigation is continuting regarding the second suspect.
