Assistance Needed to ID Armed Robbery Suspect

San Rafael, CA – September 11, 2012.  The San Rafael Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the man who robbed a downtown gas station last week.

On Tuesday, August 28th, shortly after 9:00 p.m. a masked gunman entered the Shell Gas Station at Second and Fourth Streets. The suspect displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash from the clerk. He took the money and fled on foot, last seen walking east on Fourth Street.

The suspect is a black male, unknown age, about 5’7” with a slender to medium build.  He was wearing a red Echo brand hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, dark jeans, and black and white shoes.  He had a grey ski mask partially covering his face and was wearing black and white gloves.
