On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., people all over the United States will observe the "29th Annual National Night Out." This program was created by the National Association of Town Watch to make a statement against crime throughout the country. Join the police and fire department by organizing a neighborhood activity on your block. Give neighborhood crime and drugs a going away party!
Neighborhood events can be casual and informal such as a potluck or ice cream social, or more elaborate activities including a street party. This is a night to send a powerful message about neighborhood unity, awareness, safety and police-community partnerships. Let criminals know that San Rafael is united and dedicated to building a safer, more caring city.
To participate, at least three-four weeks prior to the event you must turn in to Peggy Ruge, the Events and Parade permit form, and a copy of the NNO registration form including a detailed description of your activities (including location(s), time schedule, number of people, activities, etc.). You may be requested to carry insurance if your activity includes any public property. The Police Department and Brian Auger, the City of San Rafael Event Coordinato, will review all the information you have provided and may contact you regarding the planning for your event. Brian Auger can be contacted at (415) 485-3465.
Please fill out the registration form and return it to Peggy Ruge no later than July 17, 2012. For more information, contact Peggy Ruge at (415) 485-3114 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to your participation in this event!
