San Rafael Police K9 Association Fundraiser September 28

San Rafael, CA – September 6, 2013.  The San Rafael Police K9 Association is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center, 1118 Fourth Street, San Rafael.  The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins at 6:00 p.m.  The evening’s festivities include the Disney movie, “Turner and Hooch,” a short video on police K9s, and a cartoon.  Our new police dogs, Ares and Faro will be there and will demonstrate some of their skills.  There will be raffle drawings for prizes.  All raffle winners can attend the VIP post-movie reception held at the theater.

The San Rafael Police Department had a very successful K9 program for over 20 years, but was eliminated in 2003 due to budget constraints.  The men and women of SRPD have formed the K9 Association in an effort to rebuild the program solely through fundraising.  Contributions from the community and the San Rafael Police K9 Association funded the purchase of two German Shepherds – Ares and Faro. All proceeds from this event will go to the care, training and maintenance of the K9s.  The tickets and donations for this event are tax deductable.

Tickets to this event begin at $35.00 per person for general admission and $75.00 per person for VIP access.  The VIP ticket entitles the purchaser to a post-movie reception held at the theater with hors d’oeuvres, beer/wine, as well as a gift packet.

Tickets are available for purchase at www.srpolicek9.org, the San Rafael Police Department, or at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center.  For additional ticket information, please stop by our booth at the Downtown Farmer’s Market on Thursday, 6:00 p.m. and meet the Chief of Police, Diana Bishop.
