Third Annual Camp Chance Benefit Dinner Saturday, March 9, 2013

San Rafael, CA – February 13, 2013.  Schug Carneros Estate Winery and San Rafael Joe’s restaurant are partnering with the San Rafael Police Department to host a benefit dinner for Camp Chance.

Now in its 14th year, Camp Chance is a five day residential summer camp that brings peace officers and children together in order to build rapport and deter youth crime.  Camp Chance offers kids a structured camping and counseling experience with a mix of challenging physical, mental, and emotional activities.  In addition, peace officers provide interactive demonstrations to help the campers learn about various aspects of law enforcement.  Over 700 middle school youth have benefited from this program since it began in 1999 and the cost is completely supported by donations.  Camp Chance was created by the San Rafael Police Department in collaboration with the Marin County Sheriff’s Department and the Marin Office of Education. The Camp Chance program is completely funded by donations from private citizens.

This very popular winemaker’s dinner will be held Saturday, March 9th at San Rafael Joe’s, 931 Fourth Street, San Rafael and begins at 6:30 p.m.  Come meet Schug winemaker Michael Cox and enjoy a delicious 5-course meal paired with Schug wines.  There will be both a silent and live auction, where the items up for bid include a Palm Springs get-away, a two night stay at a Lake Tahoe cabin, and much more! Tickets are $80.00 per person in advance, $90.00 per person at the door.  Space is limited and this event is always a sell out.  All ticket proceeds directly benefit Camp Chance.  For reservations contact Rebecca Kuga at 415.485.3025 or  To see the complete dinner menu and more information go to the Camp Chance page.
