Possible PG&E Impersonation

On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at around 1045 AM, a male subject knocked on the door of a residence in a quiet neighborhood in San Rafael.  The subject impersonated himself as working for PG&E and wanted to be let in to check the heater.  The resident refused to let the subject in.  The subject was wearing a safety type vest and some type of identification holder around his neck.  The subject spent some time attempting to convince the resident to let him in.  The subject finally left and drove away in the below listed vehicle.  The vehicle did not have any PG&E markings.  Officer’s contacted PG&E and discovered that they did not have any workers in that neighborhood.

Citizens are encouraged to call the police if this vehicle or subject is seen in their community.

Subject Description:  Black male, late 30’s to 40’s, 5’10”, 225 pounds.

Vehicle Description:   Silver 1998 Mercedes Benz utility  License: 5XYX964
