Suspect Arrested for Strong Arm Robbery

On Friday January 6, 2012 at approximately 1210 Hrs San Rafael Police Department received a report of a robbery that had just occurred near the San Rafael Transit Center. The victim, a 15 year old Marin City resident contacted Transit Center Security and said he had just been robbed on a walking path across from the Transit Center.

The victim stated he was acquainted with the suspect and knew him by first name only. The suspect was later positively identified as Frank Lee Gray, 23 of Berkeley. Shortly before the robbery Gray, the victim and another male, who was later identified as Fernando Reyes, were playing dice together. Gray allegedly grabbed the victim, reached into his pants pocket and removed cash. Gray then told the victim not to call police.  Gray and Reyes allegedly divided the money and fled the area toward downtown.

Reyes, 22 of Marin City, was located a few hours later and taken into custody. He was booked at the Marin County Jail for one count of Robbery. Gray is still outstanding.
