San Rafael Police and the Marin County Sheriff's Department Make Arrests in Downtown San Rafael

On May 19, 2017, San Rafael Police Officers along with Detectives from the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force and Detectives from the Marin County Coordination of Probation Enforcement Team collaborated in an effort to curb drug use and sales in the area around Albert Park in San Rafael.  In recent months, the San Rafael Police Department has received complaints concerning drug sales, discarded needles and disorderly conduct in this area. 

The following persons were arrested or cited in this operation:

1.    Nathanial Carter, a 50 year old male from Sausalito was arrested for selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.  He was booked into the Marin County Jail.  

2.    Cleveland Wroe, a 64 year old male from San Rafael was arrested for selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.  He was booked into the Marin County Jail. 

3.    Beau Pengelly, a 36 year old male from San Rafael was arrested for selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.  He was booked into the Marin County Jail. 

4.    Martin Gazal, a 51 year old male from San Rafael was arrested for solicitation of prostitution of an undercover officer.  He was cited and released at the scene.

Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the department’s Grant Assistance Program.  ABC is a Department of the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency.
