San Rafael, CA – March 1, 2014. A San Rafael man is in very critical condition this morning after a shooting in a downtown restaurant.
At 1:13 a.m. police received a 911 call reporting a shooting inside PA’s Mexican and Filipino Cuisine at 916 B Street. Officers arrived to find a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses said the gunman walked into the restaurant and right up to the victim, shooting him several times. The suspect ran out the front door and south on B Street, where the witnesses lost sight of him. There were about 20 people in the restaurant at the time and described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The 31 year-old victim was treated by San Rafael Fire Department paramedics and taken to Marin General Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He is currently listed in very serious condition.
San Rafael PD investigators are conducting an intensive investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call SRPD at 415.485.3000. Anyone who was at the restaurant at the time of the shooting and has not yet spoken with an officer is asked to call immediately.
