Man Attempts to Rape Woman Delivering Food

SAN RAFAEL, CA – On 09/14/11, at 8:20 PM, SRPD Officers responded to the 3600 hundred block of Kerner Boulevard on a report of an attempted rape and sexual assault.  The victim reported that she was delivering food to the address when the suspect, Fermin Mejia-Hernandez, grabbed her, forced her onto a couch and attempted to rape and sexually assault her.  The victim was able to defend herself and escape.  SRPD Officers located Mejia-Hernandez in his residence and arrested him.  The victim was not injured during the attack.
 
San Rafael resident Fermin Mejia-Hernandez, DOB: 09/19/72, was booked at the Marin County Jail for 220 PC – Assault with the intent to commit rape, 664/261PC – Attempted Rape, and a Marin County misdemeanor warrant and bail was set at $100,000.00.
