Woman Robbed in Downtown San Rafael After Leaving Work

On September 14th at about 8:45pm, a woman who was walking towards the Transit Center in San Rafael was assaulted and robbed.  The victim was walking through the parking lot of Marin Film Works at 703 Third Street when she felt something tugging at her purse, which was on her shoulder.  She turned around and was confronted by two suspects.

The suspects continued their attempts to take the purse but the victim resisted and clutched the bag to her side.  One of the suspects punched the victim in the face causing her to fall to the ground then proceeded to kick her in the stomach.  The victim said that she lost consciousness at that time.

When the victim awoke, her purse was missing, but was located about a block away a short time later.  The victim reported that her face was sore and her shirt was torn but she did not require medical attention.

Since the robbery occurred at night, in a dark parking lot, the victim could only describe the suspects as two black males who were wearing dark baggie type clothing.
