San Rafael, CA- The San Rafael Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 46 year old female in the Canal Neighborhood of San Rafael. Robert Lee Bradley was arrested and booked for the homicide, as well as making criminal threats and robbery for an unrelated incident at the 7-11 convenience store.
On 09/09/11, at approx. 6:47 am, SRPD officers responded to 49 Harbor St. on the report of a woman who was not breathing. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and several male subjects in the residence. The victim was deceased and had blunt force trauma injuries to her face. One of the subjects, Robert Lee Bradley, was in a dating relationship or had recently been in a dating relationship with the victim. During the subsequent investigation, SRPD Detectives developed probable cause to arrest Stanley for the homicide. Bradley, a 51 year old resident of San Rafael, was also booked on the charges of making criminal threats and robbery. Bradley had been at the 7-11 convenience store at 80 Medway Road at approx. 5:16 am. While in the store, Bradley threatened to kill both clerks and stole an item by using fear.
Related to the homicide, SRPD officers responded to the deceased victim’s residence at 4:23 am regarding a verbal argument. Officers located Stanley and asked him to leave the area after it was determined no crime had been committed at the time.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death. The victim is a 46 year old female resident of San Rafael. Release of the victim’s identity is pending notification of next of kin.
