Federal Parolee Arrested on Drugs and Weapon Charges

San Rafael, CA – February 11th, 2013. A man who has been on the run from the US Marshal Service since early February was arrested today in San Rafael.  An anonymous tip led police to contact Foy Chandler, a 44 year old Washington resident, at the Yacht Harbor located at 557 East Francisco Boulevard. Chandler was in his RV when police initially contacted him.  He lied about his identity but then confessed he was on parole.  Officers located Chandler’s Washington ID card and discovered he was a wanted fugitive.

After the arrest, officers located approximately one gram of methamphetamine concealed in his pants.  Officers then searched Chandler’s motor home and located a loaded short barreled shotgun in the doorway as well as over 57 grams of methamphetamine and evidence of drug sales.

Chandler was on Federal probation out of Washington State for unspecified weapon offenses.  The street value of the methamphetamine is $5,700.

Chandler was booked at the Marin County Jail for felony possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, felony possession of a loaded firearm by a convicted felon and felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun. Chandler remains in custody in Marin County jail on the no-bail parole warrant.
