San Rafael, CA – September 19, 2012. An interrupted burglary led to the arrest of a San Rafael man on Tuesday night.
Last night about 10:30 p.m. a resident on Silk Oak Circle discovered a man rummaging through his garage. He confronted the suspect, who ran out of the garage, jumped in Subaru station wagon and drove away. The victim got in his own car and followed the suspect while calling SRPD from his cell phone. The suspect and his vehicle were located a short time later on McGinnis Parkway and he was taken into custody. The items stolen from the garage were located in the suspect’s car.
Jonathan Black, age 30, was booked at Marin County Jail for burglary, possession of stolen property, and violation of probation. His bail was set at $50,000. Black is currently on probation for possession of stolen property.
