In many instances, the special event or activity that you wish to conduct will require approval by the Police Department and necessitate Police Services during the event or activity. Examples are security at dances, parades, parties and film making.
The cost of the extra or special duty police services is determined by the traffic sergeant who reviews your application and assesses the number of police personnel and hours needed to ensure public safety at your event. All costs of personnel are factored at the "Fully Burdened Hourly Rate" which includes salary, benefits and overhead. This cost will be made known to you at the time your permit is processed.
